If you haven't already heard about the viral phenomenon "Dr. Pimple Popper," prepare yourself.
The southern California-based dermatologist Dr. Sandra Lee has become a surprising online hit for her videos, which capture the doctor's daily life popping all kinds of nasty growths. Some people just find it incredibly satisfying to watch Dr. Lee pop blackheads, white heads, cysts, and good old nasty pimples.
The good doctor even has a name for the millions of fans who obsess over every second of her queasy videos - "popoholics." And she says the most devoted ones have seen so many hours of her footage that they can guess the correct diagnosis before she does.
If you don't see the appeal, we don't blame you. But Dr. Lee's 2.6 million Instagram followers prove that some fans just can't look away from these shocking videos. That's why TLC is bringing the doctor and her talented fingers to TV, where we can enjoy her pimple popping skills in high definition.
And the first trailer for her new show has us all gasping.
Dr. Lee's TV special will be called This Is Zit, and promises to bring fans into Dr. Pimple Popper's world like never before.
The dermatologist calls it "a behind-the-scenes ... of what I do in my office, how I go about doing it, more explanation about the types of things that I pop out, a lot of my favorite videos, a lot of my top pops " they are there just for you."
If that's your kind of thing, you can also look forward to extra Facebook Watch specials next month to complement the special. For Dr. Lee's Facebook followers (she has more than a million) they promise some of the nasty challenges the doctor has faced yet.
