You Can Serve An Edible Glitter Turkey This Thanksgiving And Dazzle Your Guests

Reynolds Wrap

Holidays that involve food are my absolute favorite, so you can bet that Thanksgiving is at the top of my list.

Ever since I was young, my family would host a big dinner, and each year, we try to make it more magical than the last, usually by experimenting with new side dishes, stuffing recipes, and seasoning.

Over the years, we have tried so many different flavor combinations and cooking styles, we've roasted, smoked, and even deep fried our turkeys, but one thing we haven't tried yet is covering our bird in glitter.

Yes, apparently, that is now a thing and Reynolds Wrap (you know the brand that makes foil wraps), wants you to jump on the bandwagon.

The folks over at Reynolds Kitchen (the same ones who came up with the Flamin' Hot Cheetos Turkey last year) have outdone themselves this year with their Millennial-inspired Edible Turkey.

Of course, this impressive turkey involves quite a bit of extra work, but if you really want to add some pizzazz to your Thanksgiving spread, it might be worth a try.

Here's what you'll need:

  • 1 teaspoon of Gum-Tex Tylose powder
  • 4 tablespoons of boiling water
  • 1 bottle of liquid pearl sheen or pearl dust
  • Your choice of food coloring

All of these items can be found at your local craft store, so you won't have to run around all over town looking for them.

Once you have everything you need, you can get the recipe from the Reynolds Kitchen website or follow along with the video below:

So far, the reactions on social media over the glitter turkey have been very mixed, but that's not a surprise.

There are some Twitter users who think the concoction is the greatest thing ever.

Then there are those who just can't wrap their heads around it.

What about you? Is glitter turkey a good idea?
