When it was announced Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be welcoming their first child into the world next spring, the public was thrilled.
But of course, nobody was more excited about the latest addition to the British monarchy than the royals themselves.
A senior palace source revealed that Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles, Prince William and Kate Middleton were "delighted" for the newlyweds, while Meghan's mother Doria Ragland is "looking forward to welcoming her first grandchild."
"The whole of the family are very happy they were all able to congratulate the couple in person before they left for their first major overseas tour," they said.
However, the royal insider wasn't the only one to discuss the happy news.
"It just makes everything that happened over the last year disappear."
Although Meghan is estranged with the paternal side of her family, that didn't stop them from dishing out their own thoughts on the former Suits star's pregnancy.
Despite her usual snarky comments, Meghan's older half-sister Samantha Markle only had positive things to say about her pregnancy.
"It just makes everything that happened over the last year disappear. I want Meghan to be happy and calm and have peace. Everybody needs to be positive," she said in an interview with The Sun.
Samantha also told the publication that she hopes her future niece or nephew will help mend the family's broken relationship, especially the one between Meghan and their father, Thomas Markle.
"At a proper time, there should be a sit-down wherein everyone can address this properly. Everything has to work itself out. I want to allow Meg and Harry to bring my dad into it in their own appropriate time because they very well should do.
"Although I can still say I love my sister, I wasn't happy with the way my father was being treated."
"But, you know, we're also seeing now that there was a lot going on " there may have been a lot of stress."
Thomas, who's currently based in Mexico, also gave his two cents, and said he was overjoyed when he heard the news in his car radio.
"The first thing I thought about was holding Meghan as a newborn. I thought, 'My baby is having a baby.' A baby is a blessing and I look forward to seeing a little Meghan or a little Harry," he said.
While it's uncertain if the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will willingly introduce their little one to the Markles, Thomas won't let that stop him from meeting his grandchild.
"He strongly believes the baby should be as much a part of his life as they will be Prince Charles'."
According to The Mirror, although Thomas is desperate to mend his broken relationship with his daughter prior to her delivery, he has no plans on letting their rift prevent him from seeing his grandchild.
A source revealed that the Emmy Award-winner believes he has as much of a right to have a relationship with the child as Prince Charles, and has even approached to Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby for help.
It was also reported that if the child is a boy, he hopes Meghan and Harry name the child after him.
"The palace is acutely aware of what problems could lie ahead with Thomas. He strongly believes the baby should be as much a part of his life as they will be Prince Charles'," the insider said.
"Thomas says the Markle blood will be as much in the child's veins as the 'blue blood' of the royals and he has 'rights.' He admits mistakes but with Meghan pregnant, he is desperate to heal the rift."
"Thomas has reached out to Kensington Palace more so since news of Meghan's pregnancy broke, hoping the baby will be what finally breaks their estrangement."
However, ending the estrangement is easier said than done, as Thomas has previously trash-talked the royals, and held nothing back.
"They are either like Scientologists or the Stepford family," he told The Sun. "They are cult-like " like Scientology " because they are secretive."
"If they hear anybody say anything they just lock the doors. They need to speak up! They close the door, pull the shades down and put their fingers in their ears so they don't have to hear."
"Maybe they have a secret handshake too! You cannot ask a question of them " as they won't answer."
Whether or not Thomas is given the privilege of meeting his grandchild, we're sure the little bundle of joy will be deeply cared for and loved.
