Mom's Post About True Friendship Goes Completely Viral

Northern Colorado Moms Blog

Everyone knows the importance of having a support group, but this is even more true when you're struggling with life. For one mom, Kimberly Adams, her support group doesn't really live close. However, she learned that when she absolutely needs them, her friends will do whatever it takes to support her.

Adams posted about her #OnTheWayFriends, who dropped everything to come and support her during a tough time.

This is what friendship looks like??

I am currently walking through the hardest season of my life, and as Mamas we feel like weve always gotta put on our big girl pants and just muscle through. Never let em see you sweat, right? Oh girl...if theres one thing this season has taught me, its that that sort of lie is terribly dangerous to believe.

I needed my people today. I thought I just needed to call them up and cry about what was happening, and then while on the phone, my sweet friend asked me such an important question. She asked me to just say what I needed and wanted most.

I told her that I didnt want to be alone.

Her response : Im on my way.

I started in with all of the reasons she couldnt and shouldnt come... My house is a disaster. I dont want to burden you. Its such a long drive.

Her response :: Sister, I dont care about any of that. You said you dont want to be alone, so Im coming.

Not only did she make the trek from Greeley to Fort Collins, but she picked up another sweet friend along the way. They picked up lunch, they walked into my house, gave me the biggest hugs, and asked What can we do?

My disaster of a house? They helped me clean it, and assured me it wasnt that bad. They let me cry, they made me laugh, we listened to music, and most importantly...

I. Wasnt. Alone. ?

Mama, if youre going through a rough season...know that you dont have to do it by yourself. You dont even have to know what you need just start by asking to not be alone.

I know there is someone in your life who will say to you Im on my way, if only youd ask.

And Mama if you have a friend who you know is going through it, just offer to come and be there with her. Actually dont offer...just tell her youre coming.

Because I guarantee she wants that more than anything, and shes having a hard time being able to say it.

Praying for all of you walking the tough roads right now...whatever that may look like for you, know that youre not walking it alone! We love you, Mama! ?

The post has been shared over 117,000 times, and even was featured on Good Morning America. Adams was so thrilled that her friends were getting their recognition, and she sent out a follow-up post to give some more information.

This is what friendship can do ??

Wow. Something beautiful is happening here. What an incredible response to such a simple message that this life wasnt designed to live alone. ?

I originally published the post with full intention of remaining anonymous (unless of course youve been to my house and recognized my kitchen ?)...but after seeing the responses pour in, and hearing from so many of you who are walking your own hard road or alongside someone elses, I think its important to take another vulnerable step forward!

So, hey friends! My name is Kim, and these beautiful women pictured below are my #onthewayfriends. The ones getting me through, and often times carrying me down this rough road.

Something that may be surprising to know, is that Ive only known each of them for just over a year.

It's also important to note, that I met almost all of them through this very platform, Northern Colorado Moms Blog.

Were all so different, but what we each had in common was a longing for those soul-connecting friendships. The people you could do life with! And each of us had to take a brave, vulnerable step forward to find each other.

Some of us have more of those people outside of this little village, and others of us came into our group feeling so desperately alone. ?????

Sisters, every one of those lonely comments has broken my heart over the last couple of days. Because I know that feeling all too well. ?

I want you to know that it doesnt have to stay that way.

If youre feeling alone and cant identify your #onthewayfriends, I invite you to check out your local City Mom Collective page! If your city doesnt have one, do what I did and look into bringing one to your community! If thats not an option, search local Facebook event happenings and choose one to go to!

The point? Get plugged into community. Whether a Moms group, bible study, rec sports league, or anything of the like...community is happening all around you.

And if youre one of those gals who said But what if all I want is to be alone? Then girl, the way you need to ask your OTWFs to show up for you is by taking your kiddos so you can get some time to yourself! If you havent found yours yet, seek out a Moms Morning Out program and get yourself a couple of hours for YOU! ??

Most importantly, keep encouraging one another and sharing the kindness and love that we dont celebrate enough. ?

If you know who they are, post a picture and tag your #onthewayfriends to show them some love! Wed love to know how you found each other! ????

If you havent found yours yet, comment with where you are in the world so that our team and others can help get you plugged into community! ?

No matter who you are, know that we are continuing to pray for you and feel an abundance of gratitude for getting to experience the beauty that is your friendships through this! ??

So much love to you,Kimberly ?

Having a support group that will come to your rescue is so important, especially as a mom.

Do you have friends like this?

Donna loves spending time in front of the TV catching up on dramas, but in the summer you'll find her in the garden.
