My heart goes out to the family of Milliani Robertson-Lawrence. Unfortunately, she was found dead after being left in a hot minivan at the PATCO station in Lindenwold, officials say. A family friend told Eyewitness News she suffocated in the hot car.

According to police, the girl was spotted in the van by a passerby around 2:30 p.m. Friday. The family came back to the car just before 5:30 p.m.

Those who were at the PATCO Lindenwold station were taken aback when they learned what happened.

Im sure it was an accident but nonetheless, how do you leave a kid in a car? asked Juan Cave, who was picking up his wife from the station.

Thats the same question the Camden County Prosecutors Office is now asking.

Milliani's father had this to say:

What did you do for eight hours that you forgot a 2-year-old? Exactly what were you doing at the PATCO station? Lawrence said. You killed my daughter. You took her from me.

Camden County prosecutors have not yet filed charges in the case.

Some 900 miles away in Booneville, Mississippi a 21-month-old boy was found dead in a hot car in a parking lot in blistering hot temperatures. According to Police Chief Michael Ramey, officers found the child dead Friday afternoon inside a vehicle on North Second Street.

The vehicle was located near a childrens daycare and an adult daycare, both of which share a parking lot.

It appears the child was left in a vehicle at a workplace in Booneville for several hours during the day prior to arriving at the daycare facility at approximately 5:00 PM, when the child was discovered in the vehicle, Ramey said in a news release.

The police chief did not name the 21-month-old boy but said the body has been sent to the state medical examiners office.

Investigators are gathering video and statements, Ramey said.

According to a family friend, one of the parents went to the daycare to pick up the child and found out the child never made it there.
