Since 1974, Vagisil has helped women treat external vaginal itching and irritation to significant success, but now it looks like this medical treatment may also be used as a product in your daily beauty routine.
Like all women, I'm always looking for tips and tricks to enhance my glamorizing regime, but this may a little too far out for me.
In 2016, makeup artist Huda Kattan, who's also the creator of Huda Beauty, tested out a variety of products, including Vagisil, to find the perfect makeup primer, which had resulted in great success.
Makeup primer is used after you moisturize your skin but before you put on your foundation. It's typically applied all over your face in an effort to prolong your makeup wear, minimize your pores, and to smooth out your skin, while keeping it matte.
With this in mind, Kattan decided to use dimethicone (an ingredient in Vagisil), a silicone-based polymer used for protecting and soothing the skin, in her makeup line's popular Complexion Perfection Pre-Makeup Base.
"The side with the Vagisil actually feels so great and my make-up looks so great too." Kattan said in the video.
"I feel like my make-up is sitting really well, it's hydrated and I also feel like it's controlling the oil," she added.
This isn't the first time the makeup artist has used strange products to enhance her beauty tool kit. In previous YouTube videos, she has used cinnamon extract to plump her lips, removed blackheads with toothpaste and made her own bronzer using cocoa powder.
Will you be using Vagisil the next time you do your makeup?
