We all dream of stumbling upon something that will fatten our wallets.

Movies with these plots have been done to death, and yet we flock to the theaters to watch every new one.

It's thrilling to see how people's lives can change by being at the right place at the right time.

While many of us have not found any treasures, we fantasize about what we would do if we did, and that thought alone is enough to bring a smile on our faces.

For some people, this fantasy has actually turned into reality...

A 71-year-old grandmother from Colorado was with her husband, son, and grandkids when she found a 2.63-carat ice white diamond at the Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas.

"I was using a rock to scrape the dirt but don't know if I uncovered the diamond with it or not. It was just lying on the surface," she told local news station KFSM-TV.

Without noticing the big find, the family continued to search for more rocks before bringing them to the park's Diamond Discovery Center.

That's when staff members told her she uncovered a huge diamond.

"I didn't know what to think. I was shocked," she recalled.

The woman has chosen to remain anonymous, and perhaps for good reason.

A diamond of that weight could be worth tens of thousands of dollars!

"Like other rocks and minerals, no two diamonds are exactly alike. This white diamond is about the size of a pinto bean and is shaped somewhat like a fingernail," park interpreter Waymon Cox explained.

"Several brownish, freckle-like marks along the surface give the gem a unique, one-of-a-kind appearance."

This isn't the first time someone has gotten lucky at this Arkansas State Park...

More than 75,000 diamonds have been unearthed at Crater of Diamonds.

"About one out of every five diamonds registered by park visitors is found right on top of the ground, including many of the largest ever found at the Crater of Diamonds," Cox noted.
